Dear Ibu ________ and Mr.Rintanen,

First of all we would like to thank you for your stay at Gardenia Country
Inn.

I am Sharon, the email responder for Gardenia reservation , who met you at
the airport. I did not get time to chat with you earlier as I was already
left for day off on Saturday evening before you checked in. That was me who
called Ibu ________ several times to check what time you all be coming to
reconfirm the bookings, because we got many inquiries on that day while the
rooms were limited. I left a message with the room invoice to the other
staff, make sure to settle the room charge upon arrival. The exchange rate
Rp,11.600,- on Dec 29, was following to the information of the bank where
Gardenia's account open.

Regarding the unpaid bill which I had told you at the airport, it was my
mistake. Knowing that the unpaid bills included the room charges - not only
for restaurant charge - which I thought it was ok and paid already on the
29th , I brought the bills to the airport to recounted them along my way.

On the way back to Tomohon and I checked the bills again, I found there were
some bills which are not belong to you, which were exactly belongs to the
other guests who checked out on the same day. Whether in panic or confuse I
brought them together with your bills.

The other thing surprising was when we settled the credit card merchant
machine, it noted on the print out the amount of your current bills from the
credit card that our staff swiped on the first time. However we can find out
if the amount is already in our account after we report the print out to the
bank. For now the banks are still closed until tomorrow. We don't inform
this you before the bank reports us that the payment gets in. But since you
have email and asked for the bill details , herewith I inform you the
clarification on this case.

I suggest you to check your accounts and if there is a deduction for
Gardenia payment then you have overpaid Gardenia. We have reported it to our
boss and we sure will refund you the overpaid.

I understand about your feelings therefore I deeply sorry for the way we
treated you that day. On behalf the management of Gardenia Country Inn I
want to apologise for the uncomfortable and inconveniences you had
experienced on your departure day at Gardenia.

Regards,
Sharon

Dear Gardenia Country Inn Management,

I stayed in the Gardenia Country Inn for 2 nights on December 27-29 with my
wife and my parents as a part of our honeymoon trip. As discussed with one
of the staff at the Manado airport on the morning of December 29, part of
our hotel bill may still be unpaid. We already paid Rp 5.5 million in cash
at the airport, as stated in the original bill, but we were at that point
told that there were further almost Rp 1 million to be paid without the
staff being able to clarify what this payment would be for.

Could you please send us details of our bill so that we can make the
payment. We have already got the bank account details so we would just need
to get the bill details.
Also, the exchange rate Rp 11800 to the USD needs clarification.
The interbank exchange rate on December 29 was 11185.
The exchange rate the hotel wanted to use may be the rate of _buying_ USD
with rupia. We were not buying dollars from the hotel, so I don't think such
rate should be used in translating the sums to rupia.

Other than that, we are still very displeased with our experiences with the
hotel after the check-out. We kindly agreed to make the payment by money
transfer due to technical problems with the hotel's credit card payment
system, and despite this the hotel tried to prevent us from traveling to the
airport and accused us for trying to get away without paying. Obviously, in
civilized hotels the guests of the hotel are not treated in this manner, and
we have never encountered anything similar on our trips everywhere in the
world.

My parents report that the refund payment has not yet been made.
Their credit card statement says the following
29.12.2008 GARDENIA RESORT & REST IDR 5.468.450,00 = 356,30- Euro

Alternatively, there may be a possibility of disputing this payment through
their credit card company, but if Gardenia intends to refund this, then my
parents don't need to dispute this.

Best regards,

Jussi Rintanen
